CONFERENCE
We regularly read and hear of the constant exodus of professionals’ abroad, to Europe or the Americas in search of greener pastures. An example was in the Daily Graphic of 5th April 2005 headlined “The Exodus of Ghanaian Nurses”. The GCHC is part of a long-term project aimed to encourage Ghanaian professionals or graduates abroad, who genuinely are looking for career opportunities in Ghana and assistance in making the transition less stressful.
3E Quantum as the facilitator of the GCHC organize conferences and symposiums to sensitize good candidates linking them to industry and exposing them to existing career opportunities in Ghana. Our reason for GCHC is due to the immense enquires we constantly receive from our brothers and sisters abroad on career/placement prospects and the keen interest they show in returning to work in Ghana after their studies. Others due to certain frustrations abroad have realized that they can only rise to a certain level and as such wish to return home where they know they stand a better chance of attaining their full potential.
Most often however they unfortunately find it difficult making the overseeing a smooth transition back due to the ambiguity they face about local career prospects. Those who do make the bold effort face difficult hurdles with regards to job placements and end up discouraged with the only option to run back with the badly needed knowledge and expertise they have.
“GCHC” PILOT CONFERENCE
Our CEO held the first conference in London (UK) as a pilot case to verify the perception and the practicability of the project. The attendance was very encouraging considering the short notice given as against the number of professionals who attended and their caliber. Interactions after the conference were indeed a true opener and very positive.
“GCHC” OBJECTIVES
“GCHC” is to encourage and give directions to Ghanaian professionals abroad who genuinely express interests at settling back home. Reduce the level of brain drain, which is an ever-increasing problem amongst our highflying young professionals. Assist professionals abroad fulfill their potentials in Ghana by placing them in available management positions by linking and exposing them to existing career opportunities. Enhance and significantly improve productivity levels through effective time management, positive attitudinal change, innovation and creativity.
Interested professionals can email their current resumes, which would be placed on our database. All resumes received will be marketed to targeted organizations. Available positions will be advertised on our website to give interested candidates the opportunity to apply. 3EQ will constantly organize counseling sessions to Ghanaians both in Ghana and the UK - with partner Universities to offer some guidance for smooth fit into the Ghanaian work environment.
